Knocked-Out Tooth
DO NOT wash or scrub it. Handle by the crown ONLY. Gently rinse in milk or saline. If you can, re-insert it into the socket. If not, store it in milk. Time is critical—get to us within 1 hour!
Broken or Chipped Tooth
Save any fragments in milk or saline. Rinse your mouth with warm water. If the edge is sharp, cover it with dental wax or sugar-free chewing gum. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your face to prevent swelling.
Severe Pain or Abscess
DO NOT apply heat. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your face over the painful area. You can take over-the-counter painkillers (paracetamol or ibuprofen, if suitable), but avoid putting them directly on the tooth or gum. An abscess is a major emergency—call us immediately.
Lost Crown, Bridge, or Veneer
Keep the restoration safe. You can temporarily place it back using over-the-counter dental cement or even toothpaste as a temporary adhesive. Do not use superglue! Come to us to have it re-cemented properly.

Any situation causing you severe pain, uncontrolled bleeding, swelling, or needing immediate action to save a tooth. This includes: severe toothache, abscesses, broken/chipped teeth, knocked-out teeth, lost crowns/bridges, and acute gum infections. If you’re unsure, call us.
3. Do you treat children for emergencies?
Yes. Our team is fully trained to manage paediatric dental emergencies. We treat both adults and children, providing extra care, patience, and reassurance for our younger patients.
4. What if I need complex follow-up treatment?
Our emergency visit is focused on getting you out of danger and relieving your pain (e.g., a temporary fix, extraction, or drainage). If you need long-term care (like a permanent crown, implant, or full root canal), we will provide a comprehensive treatment plan and guide you on the next steps for follow-up appointments.
